The scandal surrounding Islam Makhachev after his victory over Alex Volkanovski has not subsided.
MMA star Dan Hooker has made a stunning accusation — he claims the Russian fighter used IV fluids to rehydrate before meeting Volkanovski:
“The dumb bastard thinks he can fly to Australia, hire a nurse to give him an IV and we won’t know.”
There is no convincing evidence to support this version, but Makhachev’s manager Ali Abdelaziz came out in defense of his ward. However, it seems that with his words he only harmed Islam.
He wrote on social media:
“For all those idiots out there, I’ll tell you: any UFC fighter can inject 2-3 liters intravenously if done by a nurse or a professional. Next week I will expose everyone. Islam Makhachev is the king.”
